Truther Match
How Truther Match Works
Learn how to build a useful profile, use Discover and Explore, understand the ranking, and manage your privacy and conversations.
1. Confirm your age and create an account
The service is for adults 18 and older. Visitors confirm that they meet this age requirement before entering the app; discovery and conversations require a signed-in account. This age prompt is not an identity check.
Every member can use the Free plan without a credit card. Paid plans are optional upgrades for extra features.
2. Add a profile photo and choose what to share
Add at least two pieces of profile media before swiping. Your main photo and gallery both count; the gallery can include photos or videos. Then write a short bio in your own words and select interests or perspectives you want other members to see. A photo or video does not verify the identity or intentions of the person pictured.
For a more useful profile, choose tags that genuinely describe you, say what kinds of conversation you enjoy, and share only details you are comfortable showing to other members. Avoid including private contact or financial information.
In profile settings, members can edit details and turn Profile Visible off to stop appearing in discovery results. Discover and Explore are also unavailable while your profile is hidden. Turn Profile Visible back on to resume. Hiding a profile does not erase an existing conversation; use block if you need to end a match with a specific person.
3. Browse and understand the ranked list
In Discover, a member can look at a profile and choose Like or Pass. The Browse option opens a Most Compatible list of up to 100 profiles rather than a public search page.
That list is ordered partly by overlap in selected perspective tags. If provided, zodiac information also contributes, and account tier can affect ranking. The score is a way to organize profiles, not a personality test or a promise that two people will get along.
An account-tier boost changes the order; it does not mean someone shares more values with you. Read each profile rather than relying on its score alone. Shared tags can give you a starting point for a conversation, but they are selections members make themselves, not independently verified facts.
The main Discover feed and ranked Browse list leave out hidden profiles and profiles without the required photo. Previous swipes also affect which profiles appear in the main feed.
4. Match before messaging
A Like does not open a conversation by itself. When two members have both liked each other, they become a match and can message inside the app. Some account tiers have a daily limit on likes.
There is no guarantee of a match, a reply, or an in-person connection. You control whether to respond and what information to share in a conversation.
5. Take a break, unmatch, report, or block
Profile visibility pauses new discovery. On another member's profile or in a match, the three-dot menu offers Report and Block. Reporting records a reason and optional note; it does not automatically block the account.
For an existing match, Unmatch ends the match, but it is not a block. Block also removes the match and keeps the two accounts out of each other's ranked Browse list and Explore search results. Neither action takes back information already shared. Read the Safety page for when and how to use each control.

Build a profile that starts a conversation
Your bio and selected tags help someone decide whether to connect. Make them specific enough to be useful without sharing information you would rather keep private.
- Choose tags that genuinely describe your interests or perspectives, rather than adding every option to appear in more searches.
- Write about one activity you enjoy and what you appreciate in a conversation. A concrete detail gives a match something to ask about.
- Use your own profile media and a clear main photo. Add a second photo or video in your gallery to meet the Discover swiping requirement.
- Keep your address, workplace schedule, financial information, and private contact details out of your public-facing bio.
- When messaging a match, ask about something they chose to share. Give them room not to answer or to end the conversation.
Frequently asked questions
These answers cover the main profile, discovery, and account controls. For more detail on privacy or uncomfortable interactions, follow the guides below.
Do I need to pay to create a profile?
No. The Free plan is available without a credit card. Paid plans are optional upgrades with additional features.
How many photos or videos do I need before swiping?
You need two pieces of uploaded profile media in total. Your main photo and gallery both count; the gallery can contain photos or videos.
Does Explore require every selected tag to match?
No. Explore finds profiles with at least one selected tag and returns up to 30 results. To focus on one particular interest, search that tag on its own.
Does a compatibility score predict a successful relationship?
No. Ranking uses selected tags, zodiac information when available, and account-tier weighting to order profiles. It is not a validated relationship assessment, and shared tags do not guarantee agreement or chemistry.
Does a Like start a chat?
No. Both members must Like each other to create a match. Once matched, you can message in the app without sharing your phone number.
What happens when I hide my profile?
Your profile stops appearing in discovery, and you cannot use Discover or Explore while it is hidden. Turn Profile Visible back on in profile settings to restore access. Existing matches and conversations remain available.
Does a profile photo prove someone's identity?
No. A photo, video, age prompt, or profile statement is not independent identity verification. Take time to get to know a match and read the safety guidance before meeting.
Does reporting someone also block them?
No. Reporting records your concern and optional note. Blocking is a separate action. Use the Safety guide to choose the appropriate control.
Can I leave permanently?
Yes. You can delete your account from profile settings. Deleting is different from hiding your profile and cannot be undone in the app. Review the Privacy Policy for information about data handling.
